Safe Storage
Don't risk losing your important files on damaged or lost USB Memory keys. Your files are always safe on your Personal Storage (H: Staff/Faculty, U: Students) drive:
- fast, reliable, private
- files are backed up nightly
- accessible anywhere on the network and remotely
- 300 MB of free storage space (undergraduate students, faculty and staff)
- 1 GB of storage space (graduate students)
Any files you save on the C: drive in the Social Science computing rooms are removed when the computer is shut down so don’t save anything on C:. Your files are always safe on your Personal Storage H: or U: drive.

Backup
If you have lost or accidentally deleted a file on your H: or U: drive don’t despair. We may have a backup copy! Nightly backup copies are retained for up to one month. If you need a file restored from your H: or U: drive, submit a request by clicking:
Start > (All Programs) > SSC Network > Account Services > Recover Personal Files
Printing
If you print a document to the black or colour laser printers and don’t release it right away, it will be available for up to 5 days.
When printing from Adobe Acrobat within Internet Explorer, use the print icon on the Acrobat toolbar immediately above the document.
