IBM SPSS Statistics 19.0

IBM SPSS Statistics (Formerly SPSS PASW Statistics) version 19.0 is now available for installation from the SSC Network via Add/Remove Programs as follows:

Start > All Programs > SSC Network > Add-Remove Programs

Select IBM SPSS Statistics 19 and follow the instructions on the screen.

Concurrent Versions

As of version 14 you may install concurrent versions of SPSS.

Known Installation Issue

After the installation of IBM SPSS Statistics 19, when you start IBM SPSS Statistics 19, you may receive the following message:

This application has failed to start, because the application configuration is incorrect. Reinstall of the application may fix this problem.

IBM has a support Technote on this issue. Some of the text from that Technote follows:

One possible cause of this problem is that the Microsoft Visual C++ redistributables the application requires did not execute and install properly during installation of the Statistics application. You can run them manually post-installation from here:

For 32-bit machine:

C:\Program Files\IBM\SPSS\Statistics\19\VC8\Vcredist_x86.exe
C:\Program Files\IBM\SPSS\Statistics\19\VC9\Vcredist_x86.exe

For 64-bit machine:

C:\Program Files\IBM\SPSS\Statistics\19\VC8\Vcredist_x64.exe
C:\Program Files\IBM\SPSS\Statistics\19\VC9\Vcredist_x64.exe

After running the redistributables from the installation directory, Statistics 19 should open without error.

Note: The license for version 18 will expire on December 31, 2011. Please upgrade prior to that date.
